The Bali Barat National Park (also known as the West Bali National Park ) is located in the north-west of the Indonesian island of Bali and was declared a national park in 1983 as the successor to a nature park created by the Dutch . The park was founded specifically to protect the Balistares . It nests in the northern part of the park, with only a small hundred specimens ever present. It could guarantee the survival of a sufficiently large population of the birds provided poaching is brought under control.
In the northwest is the island of Menjangan (Pulau).
