Gameplay
General
The gameplay of this part is based more on the original characteristics of the Need-for-Speed series. In addition to normal races, there are also races with police pursuit. The game has two racing careers with 30 missions each, but not all of them have to be played to play the 30th mission. In the races without the police, the career championship is called , in the races with the police, the hot pursuit . There are four different racing modes, three of which are available in the Super Races and all four are available in the Ultimate Racer Races. The modes available in both racing careers are tournament, single race and knockout modes. The tournament mode consists of several individual races. The individual races can be circular courses or sprint routes from A to B. All routes can also be used in both directions. Races in KO mode take place exclusively on circuits. In each round, the last-placed one is eliminated. The mode only available in the Ultimate Racer career is called Be a Cop . The aim of this is to stop the speeders by ramming them or with the help of road blocks and nail tapes. Thanks to a completely new graphics engine , special effects were added at the edge of the route, such as sandstorms, forest fires, helicopters that drop exploding barrels or road closures.
