Need for Speed ​​Heat is a racing video game developed by Ghost Games and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows , PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 8, 2019. The game was revealed with a trailer released on August 14, 2019, followed by a gameplay trailer released on August 20, 2019.

Gameplay

Need for Speed ​​Heat is an open world racing game set in Palm City, a fictional version of the city of Miami , Florida . Unlike Need for Speed ​​Payback , Heat does not include a 24-hour, day-night cycle, instead players can switch between day and night. During the day, players can take part in racing events where players are rewarded with cash. They can spend this money on new cars and upgrades. You can also take part in illegal street races at night, which gives players a higher reputation for unlocking upgrades and vehicles. Furthermore, the player is hunted by unscrupulous cops during the night. The higher the wanted status, the more aggressive they become. In some cases, racing events are only unlocked through a high search level. With these you can then win exclusive parts for your own vehicles. However, if you get caught by the police, you lose everything you won that night.

The game will feature 127 cars from 33 different brands, with Ferrari returning to the game after the car brand was not included in Need for Speed ​​Payback due to licensing issues . In contrast to Payback , the player no longer receives performance increases in random "speed cards", but they are unlocked with reputation points and race wins. The game is not said to have loot boxes , although paid transactions will be available to unlock content faster, as well as paid downloadable content.

On August 19, 2019, Electronic Arts released the NFS Heat Studio app for iOS and Android devices. Users can collect and customize their cars, which can then be imported into the main game upon launch.
