Niño Josele (* 24. April 1974 in Almería as Juan José Heredia ) is a Spanish flamenco - guitarist and is considered a great talent: even Chick Corea is one of his fans. He dedicates himself to a renewed flamenco, which he stylistically enriches with elements of jazz . He also draws his inspiration from classical music and especially from twelve-tone music .

Live and act

Josele, who comes from a family of classical flamenco musicians and belongs to the Roma ethnic group, learned to play the guitar from his father, who was a guitarist himself and taught him the first steps on the guitar. At the age of 22 he won the Young Performers Competition at the Flamenco Biennale in Seville .

Initially oriented more towards classical flamenco, in 2006 he presented an album with Paz that merged compositions by Bill Evans , but also by Steve Swallow , Freddy Cole and Paul Simon with this style. He mainly worked with flamenco musicians such as Paco de Lucía , Pepe de Lucía , Camarón de la Isla , his inseparable companions El Cigala , Jorge Pardo , El Chocolate , Tomatito , Duquende , Montse Cortés, Remedios Amaya and Enrique Morente as well as the jazz musicians Jerry González and Marc Johnson . However, there were collaborations with representatives of pop music such as Lenny Kravitz , Alicia Keys , Andrés Calamaro , Joan Manuel Serrat and Elton John . He's also been playing around with María Berasarte in the Fado genre .
