Nils Vroemans (born January 29, 1988 in Antwerp ) is a Belgian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HYC Herentals since 2009 and has played with the club in the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League since 2015 .
Career
Nils Vroemans, who comes from the Antwerp district of Ekeren, played at the beginning of his career as an ice hockey player with the Phantoms Deurne , where he was initially used in the second team. As a 17-year-old, he made his debut in the first men's team in the Belgian first division in the 2005/06 season . In 2009 he moved to league competitor HYC Herentals and in 2012 he won the Belgian national championship with his team . In 2012, 2013 and 2016 he won the Belgian Ice Hockey Cup with HYC . From 2010 to 2012 he and his team also took part in the Dutch-Belgian North Sea Cup . When this series was dissolved, Vroemans moved with the first team of HYC Herentals in 2012 in the Dutch honor division . Since the foundation of the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League as the joint top division of both countries, he has played with the club there and won the first edition in 2016, which was also associated with the Belgian championship title. In 2017 and 2018 he also won the Belgian championship with HYC and in 2017 the cup competition again.
International
For Belgium, Vroemans took part in the U18 World Championships in 2004 and 2006 in Division II and in 2005 in Division III. In the U20 he played at the World Championships in 2005 and 2008 in Division II and in 2007 in Division III.
With the men's national team , Vroemans took part in the World Championships of Division II in 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2017 .
