Noah Gregor (born July 28, 1998 in Beaumont , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL) since April 2018 and for their farm team , the San Jose, since October 2019 Barracuda , who plays in the American Hockey League (AHL) on the position of the center .
Career
Gregor initially spent his youth until 2014 with the Leduc Oil Kings in the junior leagues of his home province Alberta . In the Bantam Draft of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the striker was selected by the Victoria Royals in 2013 . This transferred him in January 2014, however, with some draft options in exchange for Travis Brown to league competitor Moose Jaw Warriors . Gregor made his debut there in the 2014/15 season . Due to an injury, he only played ten games, in which, however, he collected six scorer points . In the following season, the attacker recovered and achieved 82 scorer points in as many games, which ultimately led to him in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft in 111th place by the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL ) has been selected. Gregor stayed in Moose Jaw for another one and a half seasons before being transferred again in December 2017 and thus returning to the Victoria Royals.
For the Royals, however, the offensive player only played 41 games by the end of the 2017/18 season, including the playoffs, as Vicoria parted ways with him in July 2018 in a transfer deal. Gregor switched to the organization of the Prince Albert Raiders . In the meantime, he had signed an NHL entry contract with the San Jose Sharks in April of the same year , which helped him at the end of the season to his professional debut with Shark's farm team San Jose Barracuda in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Canadian completed the 2018/19 season completely with the Prince Albert Raiders, which he led together with Brett Leason as a top favorite in the playoffs for the Ed Chynoweth Cup , which he won at the end of his junior career . For the 2019/20 game year Gregor switched to the professional field and was used during the season for the San Jose Sharks in the NHL and the San Jose Barracuda in the AHL.
International
With the Canadian U18 national team, Gregor took part in the U18 Junior World Championship 2016 in Grand Forks , USA . He finished with the team after defeats in the semi-finals and in the game for third place in fourth place in the final standings. The center forward posted two assists in five tournament games.
