Not That Kind is singer Anastacia's debut album , which was released on March 27, 2000.

history

Not That Kind was mainly produced by Rik Wake ( Celine Dion , Mariah Carey ) and the team of former Color Me Badd members , Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello . Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers, authors of God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You by N'Sync , also worked on two pieces. The album contains mostly modern R & B - Dance - and radio -pieces, whereby instead of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera rather Aretha Franklin , Tina Turner or Martha Wash served as role models.

reception

William Ruhlmann from Allmusic wrote that Anastacia was already showing her "great talent" with this album. He gave it 4 out of 5 stars. The album reached number 168 on the Billboard 200 , but number nine on the Heatseekers charts in the USA, in Germany it came to number two, in Austria to number three and in Switzerland it was able to reach the top position in the charts.
