Oberachtel is one of 24 districts in the municipality of Simmelsdorf in Middle Franconia .

The hamlet is located in the valley of the Ittlinger Bach , about four kilometers northeast of Simmelsdorf and is at an altitude of 424  m above sea level. NHN .

history

Oberachtel was first mentioned in 1390 under the name Achtel, this was done together with the neighboring hamlet of Unterachtel .
