Oberndorf is one of 24 districts of the Central Franconian community Simmelsdorf in the district of Nürnberger Land .

The village is located about two kilometers north-northwest of Simmelsdorf in the Haunach valley .

history

Oberndorf was first mentioned in 1441 as the "upper village" of Hüttenbach. The Fraisch border ran through the place between the imperial city of Nuremberg and the Electorate of Bavaria ( Rothenberg ).

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the town became a rural community with the second municipal edict , which also included the village of Unterwindsberg , the hamlet of Oberwindsberg and the wasteland of Sankt Martin . In the course of the municipal regional reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the municipality of Oberndorf was incorporated into the municipality of Simmelsdorf in 1978. In 2016 Oberndorf had 155 inhabitants.
