The East and Central African national cricket team was a cricket team that participated in international competitions between 1989 and 2003. It replaced the East African national cricket team . She represented the states of Malawi , Tanzania , Uganda and Zambia and was thus one of the "national teams" in which the players came from several countries.

The team was supplemented from 1989 by players from Malawi and then renamed. From then on it was an associate member of the International Cricket Council . The first participation in the qualification for the Cricket World Cup took place in 1990 in the Netherlands, where the team was eliminated in the preliminary round without achieving a win. The team suffered the same fate in the 1994 and 1997 qualifications . Only in the 2001 edition get two wins, but did not get beyond the preliminary round of the second division. Uganda had previously split off as an independent association in 1998. When Tanzania declared its independence shortly after the ICC Trophy in 2001, it was not until 2003 that the team was completely disbanded.
