Kainach bei Voitsberg is a municipality with 1612 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the judicial district or district of Voitsberg in Styria . On January 1, 2015, the municipalities Gallmannsegg and Kohlschwarz were incorporated in the course of the structural reform in Styria .
The municipality of Kainach bei Voitsberg is located west of Graz .

The municipality covers an area of 83.44 km².

Due to the amalgamation of the municipalities, the coat of arms lost its official validity on January 1st, 2015.
The re-award took place on March 20, 2016.
The new blazon is:
- "In the shield divided by a slanting silver, black-flooded wave bar above in red, silver crossed mallets and iron, below in green a silver church, its right-hand pointed helmeted tower with attached cross with four black openwork high rectangular windows one above the other, the nave with black openwork gate and four rectangular windows above. "

The earliest written document was created around 1075 and is "Cheinahc". The name goes back to the old Slavic choja (conifer).
