Otto Heinrich Carl Gustav Hermann Dragendorff (born August 18, 1877 in Dorpat , † April 12, 1962 in Greifswald ) was a German anatomist .

Life

Otto Dragendorff was a son of the Dorpater pharmacist Georg Dragendorff . He attended a private grammar school in Dorpat and, after the family moved to Rostock, from 1894 the local city ​​school , where he graduated from high school in 1898. From 1898 to 1902 he studied medicine in Munich and Rostock. In 1903 he passed the state examination and received the probation as a doctor. In the same year he received his doctorate with Dietrich Barfurth at the University of Rostock . From 1903 to 1904 he was an assistant to Robert Bonnet at the Anatomical Institute of the University of Greifswald , then from 1904 to 1905 as a prosector with Barfurth at the Anatomical Institute in Rostock. From 1906 he was again with Bonnet in Greifswald, which he followed in 1907 to the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , where he completed his habilitation in 1911 and was appointed private lecturer. In 1916 he was appointed associate professor of anatomy and in 1918 personal professor.

Dragendorff was appointed associate professor and head of department at the Anatomical Institute of the University of Greifswald in 1919. In 1921 he was appointed full professor. He worked here without interruption from 1919 and was temporarily head of the institute, for example from the reopening of the university in 1946 to his retirement in 1948. He continued to hold lectures and demonstrations until 1955. Dragendorff was a member of the Anatomical Society .
