Panora is a small town (with the status " City ") in Guthrie County in the US -amerikanischen State Iowa . In 2010 Panora had 1,124 inhabitants, the number of which had decreased to 1,092 by 2013.
Panora is part of the metropolitan area around Iowa's capital Des Moines .

Panora is located in southwest Iowa center below the Lake Panorama , a reservoir of about Raccoon River and the Des Moines River to the basin of the Mississippi belonging Middle Raccoon River .
The geographical coordinates of Panora are 41 ° 41'30 "north latitude and 94 ° 21'47" west longitude. The urban area extends over an area of 4.66 km² and is located in the Cass Township .
Neighboring towns of Panora are Lake Panorama (on the northwestern city limits), Yale (10.6 km north), Linden (12.3 km southeast) and Guthrie Center (12.1 km west).
The center of Des Moines is 45 miles to the east. The Iowa State Highway 44 runs in a west-east direction as the main road through the urban area of Panora and meets in the center on the southern endpoint of the Iowa State Highway 4 . All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
