Paula Braend

Paula Braend (born August 6, 1905 in Starnberg , † October 4, 1989 in Munich ; born Paula Nanna Braendlein ) was a German actress .

The daughter of a stockbroker and banker received dance training after secondary school and took acting lessons from Magda Lena. She received her first engagement in Vienna in 1939 , after which she played at the State Theater Schwerin , Theater Gera and the Hamburg State Theater . From 1945 to 1948 she was a member of the ensemble of the Münchner Kammerspiele . In the following years she worked as a freelancer and made guest appearances at numerous theaters, especially until 1984 at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich.

In 1944, she made her film debut as a young woman at a festival in the film drama Aufruhr der Herzen . In the homeland films of the 1950s, the compact actress was often cast as a typical farmer's wife next door. In the 1960s, the popular actress shifted her activity to television and played, among other things, in numerous performances of the comedy nobility under the direction of Olf Fischer and in the equally popular series Royal Bavarian District Court , where she made several appearances as "Amalie Wiesmeier". Paula Braend, married Bauer, also appeared in crime series such as Der Alte and Derrick .

She rests in the cemetery in Unterhaching .
