Petrova ( Ukrainian Петрова Petrowa , Hungarian Petrova ) is a municipality in the Maramureș district in northern Romania .
Geographical location
The village is on the national road ( drum național ) DN 18, roughly in the middle between Sighetu Marmației and Vişeu de Sus . The district road ( drum județean ) DJ 185 branches off approximately in the center of the village to Valea Vișeului . The Vişeu River flows along the village .
The station is connected to the Valea Vişeului – Borşa railway line.
history
The place Petrova was first in 1385 as villa Viso inferiori ; Mentioned in a document in 1411 under the name Petrowa .
On July 16, 1930, a freight and passenger train collided between Petrova and Bistra . 22 people died.
