Pomona Park is a city in Putnam County in the US state of Florida with 912 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Pomona Park is about 25 km west of Palatka and about 100 km south of Jacksonville .
history
The city was founded in 1874. It received its first rail connection in 1886 by extending the Jacksonville, Tampa & Key West Railway from Jacksonville via Palatka to Sanford . After several sales and restructuring, the route finally came into the possession of CSX Transportation in 1986 .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 912 inhabitants were distributed over 441 households. The population density was 120 inhabitants / km². 81.1% of the population identified themselves as whites, 7.9% as African American , 1.3% as Indians and 1.2% as Asian Americans . 6.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.9% to several ethnic groups. 15.4% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 30.7% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 39.7% of all households. 62.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.53 people and the average family size was 3.10 people.
26.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 22.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 25.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 25.2% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 49.7% of the population were male and 50.3% were female.
The median annual income was $ 30,489, with 26.5% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 97.34% of the population and Spanish spoke 2.66%.
