Pornhub is a porn website from the Canadian company Mindgeek , headquartered in Montreal . The website offers pornographic videos and images on various topics and in several languages.

history

Manwin, now MindGeek, took over Pornhub in 2010 and founded the Pornhub Network.

The website was founded on May 25, 2007 by web developer Matt Keezer in Montreal, Canada. In March 2010, Pornhub was bought and taken over by Fabian Thylmann , the entrepreneur of the media and IT company Mindgeek (formerly Manwin). Then the Pornhub Network was founded, which consists of the sites Pornhub, YouPorn , RedTube , Tube8 , PornMD, Thumbzilla, XTube, Peeperz and GayTube.

The Pornhub Select service was launched for the first time in October 2013, making it possible to watch videos in Full HD . Also in October, an algorithm was introduced with PornIQ that analyzes the search and playback behavior of the user and recommends videos and / or creates recommended playlists based on this.

In August 2015, Pornhub launched the paid subscription model Pornhub Premium , which, among other things, makes it possible to watch all videos ad-free. It also allows access to the collection of Pornhub Select with videos in Full HD . From the beginning of 2016, the premium offer was also expanded to include VR technologies.
