Poznan is a district of the city of Neustadt an der Orla in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .
geography
Poznan is located west of Knau on state road 2365 with an imminent connection to state road 2350 on a trough-like plateau of the southeast Thuringian slate mountains . The hills to the west of the district are wooded. To the east, just behind Knau, begins the area of the Plothener ponds . Poznan has a rail connection to the disused Triptis – Marxgrün line , on which there is only trolley service . The federal highway 9 is not far away.
history
1378 was the first documentary mention for Posen. The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Ziegenrück until 1815 and after its assignment, decided at the Congress of Vienna , came with the majority of the Neustädter Kreis to the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach .
The Posenmühle , a little off the beaten track by the Dreba Brook on the eastern outskirts, was a mill in Posen. Until 1990 it was a vacation home of the Deutsche Reichsbahn . Since then the mill has been a country house , mainly for groups of children and schoolchildren.
