Přemysl Kubala (born December 16, 1973 in Frýdek-Místek ) is a Czech beach volleyball player .

Career

After Kubala had completed his first world series tournaments in 1996, he formed a duo with Michal Palinek . The Czechs achieved some top ten placements in open tournaments and grand slams and finished 17th in the 1997 World Cup . The year 1999 was less successful at the side of Marek Pakosta , with whom Kubala did not get beyond the 41st place at the World Cup in Marseille and missed the European Championship . At the EM 2000 Kubala and Petr Chromy lost to the compatriots Pakosta / Džavoronok and the Norwegians Kvalheim / Maaseide .

After a break of several years, Kubala returned to international tournaments in 2005 in a new duo with Michal Biza . At the EM 2006 Kubala / Biza failed to the eventual winners Brink / Dieckmann and the Estonians Kais / Vesik . The Baltic team stopped Kubala next year in Valencia , when he and Jaroslav Pavlas in the losers bracket, the Ukrainians Baby sealed / Nykolaew subject. In 2008 Jan Dumek became his new partner. At the European Championships in Hamburg , however, he played with Petr Beneš and, after a defeat against Brink / Dieckmann, fought his way on the losing side until the fifth round against the Swiss Heuscher / Heyer , so that in the end it was enough for seventh place.

The next year, Benes became his permanent partner. In the preliminary round of the European Championships in Sochi , they had to admit defeat in third place to the teams from Poland and Spain with the same points. At the 2011 World Cup , they came into the first main round as group winners and lost in three sets against the Brazilians Bruno / Benjamin . They then finished ninth in three consecutive Grand Slams and just barely missed the semifinals in Klagenfurt against the eventual winners Ricardo / Cunha . At the European Championships in Kristiansand in 2011 and in Scheveningen in 2012 , they each landed on 17th place. At the 2012 Olympic tournament in London , Beneš / Kubala were third in their preliminary group and then retired after a 2-1 defeat by the Germans Erdmann / Matysik . At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki they were eliminated after the preliminary round despite a victory over the Kazakhs Jakowlew / Kuleschow .
