Prestin Ryan (born January 6, 1980 in Arcola , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Mora IK from HockeyAllsvenskan .
Career
The 1.83 m tall defender played in his junior days for the Yorkton Parkland Mallers in the Canadian amateur league Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League and then stood for three seasons for the Estevan Bruins in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League on the ice. During his college years , the left shooter was in the squad of the University of Maine's ice hockey team from Hockey East , a league in the NCAA's game operations .
For the 2004/05 season Ryan was taken due to his success in college sports as an undrafted free agent of the Columbus Blue Jackets from the National Hockey League under contract. However, they only used him in their farm team , the Syracuse Crunch , in the AHL and finally transferred him to league rivals Vancouver Canucks . For the Canadians Ryan made his debut in the highest North American professional league in the 2005/06 season , but most of the time he played for the cooperation partner Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League. In 2007 , the Canadian moved to the Chicago Blackhawks , where he played for the Rockford IceHogs . Due to a concussion, the defender had to end the season after 44 games.
In 2008 Prestin Ryan signed a contract with Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League that was valid until the end of the season . For the 2009/10 season he had a contract with ERC Ingolstadt . In August 2010, the Canadian signed with the Iserlohn Roosters , where he replaced test player David Walker . For the 2011/12 season he returned to Ingolstadt. In October 2012 the Canadian was signed by Mora IK from HockeyAllsvenskan .
