Product Red - stylized as (PRODUCT) RED - is an initiative founded in 2006 by Bono ( front man of the band U2 ) and Bobby Shriver from the organization DATA , in which companies can sell product variants in the design of “Product Red”. On the one hand, the product is advertised with the word-image brand and, on the other hand, it often has a red appearance. A portion of the profits made by these products will go to the Global Fund , an organization to fight AIDS , tuberculosis and malaria . Bono and Shriver presented Product Red 2006 at the World Economic Forum in Davos ; American Express , Gap and Giorgio Armani were the first brands involved to announce products as part of the initiative. Product Red is a division of the ONE campaign, which was also co-founded by Bono and Shriver .
