The province of Huancabamba is one of eight provinces that make up the Piura region in northwestern Peru . The province covers an area of 4,254.14 km². The 2017 census counted 111,501 inhabitants in the province. In 1993 the population was 117,459, in 2007 124,298.
Geographical location
The province of Huancabamba is located in the western Andean chain. The province of Huancabamba borders Ecuador to the north, the Cajamarca region to the east, the Lambayeque region to the south and the Morropón and Ayabaca provinces to the south . The capital of the province is Huancabamba .
