The Qark Korça ( Albanian Qarku i Korçës ) is one of the twelve Qarks in Albania . It is located in south-eastern Bania and has an area of 3711 square kilometers. The capital is Korça .
geography
The Qark Korça covers the south-east of Albania with Korça as the historical, economic and administrative center. The second largest city is Pogradec on Lake Ohrid. In the northeast, the Qark Korça borders on North Macedonia , Lake Ohrid and the Prespa Lakes . In the east and south, the border of the Qark is also the state border with Greece . The whole area is very mountainous, only the Korça plain enables large-scale farming. Important rivers of central and southern Albania, the Shkumbin , the Devoll and the Osum , have their source in the Qark .
The national park Drenova and the national park Prespa with its species-rich wetlands form the greatest natural attractions of the Qark.
Today the Qark is divided into the six municipalities of Devoll , Kolonja , Korça, Maliq , Pogradec and Pustec . Until 2015, the area was divided into the districts of Devoll , Kolonja , Korça and Pogradec and 38 municipalities.
To the southwest of the qark lies Gjirokastra Qark , to the west of Berat Qark and northwest of Elbasan Qark .

The 2011 census figures show a population of 220,357, a decrease of almost 20% over the last ten years.
In the Qark there is a significant Macedonian minority towards Greece , who live in particular on Lake Prespa, and a Greek minority . Several hundred Aromanians also live in Voskopoja .
With a share of 58.98 percent, Muslims make up the majority of the population. In addition, 2.07 percent of the population are Bektaschites . About 16.25 percent are Orthodox , 1.13 percent Catholic , 0.3 percent Protestant and 0.06 percent other Christians. 8.84 percent are believers without a denomination and 1.82 percent are atheists. In 2011, 10.25 percent gave no information about religion.

The Qark Council (alb. Këshilli i Qarkut ) has 71 members.
Qark Korça provided twelve members out of a total of 140 for the legislative periods of the Albanian parliament beginning in 2009 and 2013 .
