Quintin Laing (born June 8, 1979 in Harris , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who currently plays for the Abbotsford Heat in the American Hockey League .

Career

The 1.88 m tall winger began his career with the Kelowna Rockets in the Canadian Junior League WHL , before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft as 102nd in the fourth round of the Detroit Red Wings .

However, the links Sagittarius never stood for the franchise of Michigan in the NHL on the ice, as it immediately to the Chicago Blackhawks was transferred. For the Blackhawks Laing completed his first assignments in the highest North American professional game class in the 2003/04 season , the rest of the time he spent exclusively with the Norfolk Admirals , the then farm team of the Blackhawks in the American Hockey League .

In 2006, Quintin Laing switched to the organization of the Washington Capitals, where he was initially regularly on the ice in the NHLÖ from the 2007/08 season . At the beginning of the 2008/09 season , the attacker was first sent back to the Hershey Bears farm team in the AHL. In November 2010 the Abbotsford Heat picked him up with a PTO. At the beginning of 2011, the management promoted him to the 3rd team captain in team history after Brett Palin and Garth Murray . When he became a free agent in early July 2011, the Calgary Flames secured his services and got him to sign for a two-year contract.
