Surrounding towns are Prenzlau in the north, Dreyershof and Seelübbe on the other side of the Unteruckersee in the east and south-east, Zollchow in the south and Dollshof and Schmachtenhagen in the south-west. The Luisenthal residential area belongs to Röpersdorf .

history

Originally laid out as a street green village, Röpersdorf was first mentioned in 1362 as Roperstorp . The name of the place is derived from the German surname "Röper", which indicates a village founder or former owner of the place. Röpersdorf was originally founded by Slavic settlers. In the 14th century the village came into the possession of the Sabinenkloster Prenzlau until it was secularized in 1543 . Röpersdorf came into the possession of the city of Prenzlau in 1861 through several village owners.

On July 1, 1950, the southern neighboring community of Zollchow was incorporated into Röpersdorf. Until 1952 Röpersdorf belonged to the Prenzlau district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg . After the GDR district reform, the community finally belonged to the reduced Prenzlau district in the Neubrandenburg district . Since the turnaround and the Brandenburg district reform in 1993, Röpersdorf has been in the Uckermark district . From 1994 there was an increase in the population in Röpersdorf after the construction of a new residential area began there. On December 1, 1997, Röpersdorf merged with the Sternhagen community to form the Röpersdorf / Sternhagen community. On November 1, 2001, this merged with nine other municipalities to form what is now the greater municipality of Nordwestuckermark .

Attractions

  • The Protestant village church Röpersdorf is a field stone building from the 13th century. The roof structure dates back to 1380. In 1890, the building was extensively reconstructed, adding the high, square west tower made of brick. The windows were widened at the same time. Inside the church, a painted wooden ceiling was exposed during renovation work in 2003, plus galleries in the west, north and south from the 18th century. The church has a pulpit altar from the 18th century. Today's cemetery enclosure was built around 1900 as a brick and brick building, and the cemetery portal from the 16th century is located in it. In the church there is an organ built by the Berlin organ builder Carl August Buchholz in 1848. The church as well as the cemetery enclosure and organ are listed .
