The Rayon Simferopol (Ukrainian Сімферопольський район / Simferopolskyj rayon ; Russian Симферопольский район / Simferopolski rayon , Crimean Aqmescit rayoni ) is a Ukrainian Rayon in the Crimean Autonomous Republic . It has a total population of around 150,000 and covers an area of 1,753 km². It includes 3 urban-type settlements, 103 villages and 3 settlements organized in 18 district councils.
geography
The Rajon is located in the central west of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, it borders in the northwest with the Rajon Saky , in the north with the Rajon Krasnohwardijske , in the east with the Rajon Bilohirsk , in the southeast with the city Alushta , in the south and southwest with the Rajon Bakhchysaray and in the west on a short stretch to the Kalamita Bay of the Black Sea . It completely encloses the eponymous city of Simferopol , but this is not itself part of it.
