Ramadan Yasser Abdel Ghaffar (born July 19, 1980 in Gharbîya el-Saqriya , Gouvernement al-Wadi al-Jadid ) is an Egyptian boxer.

Amateur career

Ramadan Yasser Abdel Ghaffar is around 1.85 and comes from the same city of birth as the successful boxer Mohamed Hikal . He fought as an amateur in the middleweight (69 to 75 kg), light heavyweight (75 to 81 kg) heavyweight (81 to 91 kg) and super heavyweight (over 91 kg).

He represented Egypt in the middleweight division at the Summer Olympics in 2000 in Sydney and 2004 in Athens , as well as a light heavyweight at the Games in 2008 in Beijing . In 2000 and 2004 he was the youngest member of the Egyptian Olympic boxing team.

At the 2003 World Championships in Bangkok , he defeated Leon Hinds from the USA and Abulikemu Abudureheman from China, before losing to Oleg Maschkin from Ukraine and reaching 5th place. He won another 5th place at the 2007 World Championships in Chicago . After victories against Badou Jack from Sweden and Eleider Álvarez from Colombia, he lost to Daugirdas Šemiotas from Lithuania. He also came in 5th at the 2006 Military World Championships in Warendorf and won the bronze medal in the super heavyweight division at the 52nd Military World Championships in Baku in 2008 .

In 1999, 2003 and 2007 he won the 7th, 8th and 9th Pan-African Games in the cities of Johannesburg , Abuja and Algiers . He beat Eromosele Albert , Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam and Abdelhafid Benchabla in the finals . In 2001 he won the 14th Mediterranean Games in Tunis and reached 2nd place in the 4th Francophone Games in Ottawa ; he lost it in the final Lucian Bute . In 2005 he reached after a loss to Marijo Šivolija 5th place at the 15th Mediterranean Games in Almería and won the 5th Francophone Games in Niamey .

In 2007 he also won the 15th African Championships in Antananarivo , the 24th Arab Championships in Ariana , the 1st Arab Military Championships in Algiers and the 11th Pan-Arab Games in Cairo .

He is also the winner of several international tournaments, including the 9th Hakija Turajlić tournament in Bosnia in 2003 and the 3rd Mohamed VI Trophy in Morocco in 2008.

Professional career

In 2010 he switched to the professional camp in the USA and moved to New York City . He has won each of his eight fights so far, five of which by knockout.
