Rauterkusen is a district of the town of Attendorn in the Olpe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) and has 29 inhabitants.

geography

Rauterkusen is located north of the core town of Attendorn between Keseberg in the west and Ennest in the east. The Bremgebach, which rises north of Auf der Höhe, flows through the village.

history

Rauterkusen was first mentioned as Roterkusen in 1439 . The place name can be interpreted as " at the houses of the people of the Rōtheri ". Politically, Rauterkusen was formerly part of the Waldenburg office and in the Gogericht and parish Attendorn part of the Ennest peasantry .

On February 22, 1556, the Mayor of Attendorn Markus in dem Winkel and his wife Anna sold a pension from their Rauterkusen farm to Hans op dem Jackel ( Jäckelchen ) in the parish of Helden . In 1587 Johann Rechelmann and 1589 Rötger von Rauterkusen became the tenant of the farm. In 1605 the Rauterkusen farm was divided up after the owner, Mayor Cornelius Zeppenfeld, had died. In 1607 Gebhardt Boeckelmann and Mrs. Christina, citizens of Attendorn, left half of their farm property to Hunold von Loen, judge of the city of Rüthen . In 1613 he in turn sold this half to Caspar von Fürstenberg (Schnellenberg House). In the meantime, the farm was also subject to tax to General Field Marshal Lothar von Bönninghausen , who lived as a tenant at Schnellenberg Castle . In 1682 the entire estate fell to the Schnellenberg family. It was managed by Cornelius von Rauterkusen until his death in 1686, then by his son Hans. In 1732 Christian Franz Dietrich von Fürstenberg leased the farm to Johann Rauterkus, then in 1747 to Johannes Korte called Rauterkus for a period of 12 years. In the 1920s, writes Pickert, “the manor house was a semi-detached house that was inhabited by two owners of the property, the Wwe. Franz Starke and the Joseph Stuff family”.

The address book from 1929 in Rauterkusen lists the names "Berg, Keseberg (3), Klein (5) and Stuff (2)". In 1936 there were 6 houses with 6 households and 40 residents in the village. The address book from 1956 lists the names "Berg (3), Keseberg (4), Klein (8) and Stuff (4)". At the end of 1988 the place had 29 inhabitants.

From 1819 Rauterkusen in the Attendorn office belonged to the Attendorn-Land community until it was incorporated into the town of Attendorn in 1969.
