Weschede is a district of the town of Attendorn in the Olpe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) and has 55 inhabitants.

geography

Weschede lies west of the core town of Attendorn, between Beukenbeul in the north and paper mill in the south. The Wesebach, a left tributary of the Ihne, flows through Weschede . The highest peaks are northwest of the Windhagen (456 m) and east of the Birkeshardt (425 m).

history

Weschede was first mentioned in 1379 as " toe Werschede " and in 1386 as Werschede . The place name can be interpreted as a " segregated, demarcated area on the Werse " (Wesebach). On April 25, 1411 sold Wilhelm Graf zu Limburg and Mr. von Broich his Lehnware on the tenth of the goods Boikenboile , Werschede, Alverinchusen and Waymbeke to a Cologne citizens.

Politically, Weschede formerly belonged to the Waldenburg office and in the Gogericht and parish Attendorn to the peasantry Albringhausen, which also belonged to surrounding towns such as Beukenbeul, Listerscheid , Wamge and others. In the treasury register of 1543, the Ailberinghausen bureau with 26 taxpayers names the four Wescheder Dietherich zu Werscheit, Johann zu Werscheit, Hanß Kremerling and Peter Heidtbrink with duties of 1½ to 2 gold guilders .

In the 17th century there were four estates in Weschede: Stumpes Gut, Schulten Gut, Königs Gut and Kömhoffs Gut. The Stumpes Gut was the lowest courtyard in the village and belonged to the Attendorn gographer Theodor Burghof. It was run by Georg Stump until his death in 1672, then by Johann Cramer, who married the widow. In 1728 Anton Stumpf is named. Georg Teipel is the owner in 1828. The Teipel family stayed on the farm until Hubert Teipel sold it in parts around 1920 and moved to Groß Hove near Neumünster in Holstein.

The large Schulten Gut (formerly Heidbrincksche Gut) was in the middle of the village and belonged to Kaspar König as hereditary property. He built a new house opposite the old house "on the bank" and added a third of the land to it. The new farm was now called the Königs Gut, while the old farm was now called Schulten Gut. After the death of Kaspar König it has been managed by Kaspar Springob since 1681, then by Johann Springob at the beginning of the 18th century. Josef Wurm is the owner at the end of the 19th century.

The separated royal estate belonged to the Attendorn family Bresser in the 18th century, who still owned it in 1819. Run by Johann König in the middle of the 18th century, then by Johann Bernhard König and after his death in 1794 by Johann Bernhard Langenohl called König. The Langenohl family remained owners until they sold the estate to Ferdinand Böhne in 1902.

The Kömhoffs Gut was the highest court in the village and a great inheritance. The owner was Jost Kömhoff until his death in 1678, then his son Friedrich. The Kömhoff family succeeded Josef Langenohl, known as Kömhoff, as owners of the estate around 1920.

The address book from 1929 in Weschede lists the names "Böhne (3), Drexelius, Hömberg, Immekus (3), Kloppke, Langenohl (4), Lätchen, Lichterkus (5), Rinse (2), Schemm, Springob (3), Steppard and Wurm (2) “. In 1936 there were 12 houses with 13 households and 62 residents in the village. In 1988 the place had 59 inhabitants.

From 1819 Weschede was part of the Attendorn municipality in the Attendorn-Land municipality, until the municipality was incorporated into the town of Attendorn in 1969.

Weschede in the Wesebachtal is still strongly characterized by agriculture. A Attendorner monument is the club house Ihnetal.

Weschede belongs to the parish of St. Josef in nearby Listerscheid. The club life takes place for both places in the club house or the Schützenhalle Ihnetal and on the soccer field on Wesetalstraße in Weschede.
