Listerscheid is a district of the town of Attendorn in the Olpe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) and has 150 inhabitants.

geography

Listerscheid is located southwest of the core town of Attendorn between the Ebbegebirge and Biggesee on the L 539 state road in the Ihne valley . To the east of the village is the Listerscheid stop on the Finnentrop-Olpe railway line , before entering the Bausenberg tunnel (1156 m) shortly afterwards.

history

The name Listerscheid was first mentioned in a document on April 27, 1488, when Peter Peltz and Mrs. Katherine sold their meadow at Alverkussen under the Listerschet to Hannes Huesher and Mrs. Elseben . In 1513 gave Alvardt of Hoensseler , prioress of the monastery Schilling Kappel , the monastery forever the meadow courts under the Listerschet . In both cases, the Listerscheid corridor seems to have been uninhabited. A house was probably only built there towards the end of the 16th century.

Politically, Listerscheid belonged to the Waldenburg office and in the Gogericht and parish Attendorn to the Albringhausen peasantry , which also included surrounding towns such as Wamge , Papiermühle , Weschede and others. In the treasury register from 1648 a Johan Sommer is listed in front of the Listerscheid . His small farm belonged to the Ewig monastery. In the 1790s the to Wamger had tithes belonging Good to pay the tenant Kaspar Liitticke 30 Stüber control. In the 19th century, Gut Listerscheid was enlarged, the inn had been in the hands of K. Langenohl since 1885. By marrying in, the estate and restaurant went to Josef Metten from Helden around 1900 .

In 1936 there were 14 houses with 27 households and 107 inhabitants in Listerscheid. At the end of 1988 the place had 194 inhabitants.

From 1819 Listerscheid belonged in the Attendorn office to the Attendorn-Land municipality until the municipality was incorporated into the town of Attendorn in 1969.

The Catholic Church of St. Joseph was built in 1912/13 and consecrated on March 24, 1913. Parish for Listerscheid and the surrounding area. The church and restaurant made the place the center of the lower Ihnetal. On the southeast slope of Listerscheid there has been a memorial for the dead of the world wars since 1965.

The Nierhofer mill on Ihnestraße, two holy houses on the right and left of Ihnestraße and the Ihnetal clubhouse on Wesetalstraße in Weschede are Attendorn architectural monuments .
