Keseberg is a district of the town of Attendorn in the Olpe district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) and has 28 inhabitants.

Keseberg is located northwest of the core town of Attendorn and east of Windhausen on Plettenberger Straße (L 697).

history

Keseberg was first mentioned in 1477, when a Donies van Kesebergh was named as a witness in a deed of purchase of the monastery Ewig . The place name can be interpreted as " mountain near a valley ".

Politically, Keseberg belonged to the Waldenburg office and in the Gogericht and parish Attendorn to the Windhausen peasantry , which also included surrounding places such as Lichtringhausen , Biekhofen , Dahlhausen and the like. a. belonged to. In the treasury register of 1543, a Jacob Keesebergh with a tax of one gold gulden is named in the Winterhuißer Burschektiven with 21 taxpayers . In the registry of 1565 Jacob zu Kesbergh was taxed with 1½ gold guilders.

The large, spacious Keseberg farm belonged to the town of Attendorn and was managed by Johann zu Keseberg until 1678, then by his son Nikolaus. Later there were several farms; the largest with an old manor house belonged to Franz Keseberg in the 1920s.
