Career
The 1.83 m winger played in his junior days with the Voltigeurs de Drummondville in the Canadian professional youth league Québec Major Junior Hockey League and was finally selected in the second round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft as 24th by the Québec Nordiques .
Corbet was in the 1990s regular player in the National Hockey League , including the Colorado Avalanche , with which he won the Stanley Cup in 1996, and the Pittsburgh Penguins . In 2001 the Canadian moved to the Adler Mannheim in the German Ice Hockey League , where he quickly became a crowd favorite because of his use on the ice. However, the attacker was plagued by injuries, which meant that the team had to do without him for a long time. In the final of the German Ice Hockey Cup 2003 , Corbet scored a goal in front of 11,000 spectators in the Kölnarena and won his first title with the Mannheimers. From the 2006/07 season the left shooter was the Adler's captain and in his 250th game for the Adler in the SAP Arena , which was sold out with 13,600 spectators, he again won the DEB Cup against the Kölner Haie . A short time later, Corbet and the team also became German champions . After the 2008/09 season , the Adler announced Corbet's departure from Mannheim, where Corbet's number 20 was then "blocked", which means that it will no longer be awarded in the future. On October 4, 2011, Corbet wore the eagle's jersey again in his farewell game in the SAP Arena against the Buffalo Sabers in the first third before his jersey was hung under the roof.
From October 2009 until the announcement of the end of his career in 2011, Corbet was under contract with the Norwegian first division club Frisk Tigers .
