Dimitris Reppas

Dimitris Reppas ( Greek Δημήτρης Ρέππας , born July 6, 1952 in Leonidi, Arcadia Prefecture ) is a Greek politician . He held several ministerial posts under different prime ministers.

Life

In 1974 he joined the Panhellenic Socialist Movement ( PASOK ) as a founding member. Since 1984 he has been a member of the board of PASOK.

In 1975 he became a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Greek Student Unions. From 1979 to 1981 Reppas was the deputy chairman of the PASOK youth organization. In 1981 he was first elected to the Greek Parliament as a member of the Arcadia constituency.

From 1996 to 2001 Reppas was Minister for Press and Mass Media and government spokesman several times - with interruptions. He was then Minister for Labor and Social Security from October 2001 to March 2004. From October 7, 2009, Reppas was Minister of Infrastructure and Transport in the government of Giorgos A. Papandreou , and from June 17, 2011 to November 2011, Minister for Administrative Reform. In the interim government of Loukas Papadimos , he was Minister for Decentralization and E-Government.
