Among other things, the DSS, with the support of VD 3 (Verkehrsstaffel Ost Hamburg), accompanied the former US President Bill Clinton on July 10, 2004 at his book presentation in Hamburg . At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the DSS, under the leadership of its then director Darwin D. particularities
Within the DSS there is a tactical special unit called the Mobile Security Division (MSD).
Through the Rewards for Justice Program (in German: Rewards for clues in the service of justice ) of the DSS , the US State Department awards rewards for information about the whereabouts of various wanted terrorists from around the world and also pays out rewards for clues about terrorist attacks against Americans or prevent American institutions, as well as for information that enables the conviction of the terrorists.
