Rita Bertolini

Rita Aurelia Bertolini (born July 9, 1966 in Egg , Vorarlberg ; † January 1, 2017 there ) was an Austrian publisher , author and photographer .

Life

Rita Bertolini came from a Bregenzerwald master builder family with Trentino roots: She was a great-granddaughter of Johann Bertolini , about whom she wrote a biography in 2008. She grew up in Egg, where she was born, and trained as a textile designer after finishing school . Later she started her own business as a graphic artist with a focus on book design . From the end of the 2000s she also worked as an author, photographer, editor and publisher. She was particularly involved with a variety of contributions to the regional and cultural history of her home region Vorarlberg and curated also regional history exhibitions.

In her book Sterbstund, published in 2015, she dealt with the subject of “dealing with death” and openly dealt with her own cancer . The book and an exhibition of the same name curated by her were created in cooperation with the vorarlberg museum in Bregenz . The exhibition Sterbstund was except in Vorarlberg museum so far in the Montafon Heritage Museum in Schruns shown and is currently (early 2017) in Lech Museum in Lech seen.

Bertolini was married. She died of cancer at the age of 50.

Bertolini Publishing House

In 2009 Rita Bertolini founded Bertolini Verlag , based in Bregenz, with which she a. a. published elaborately designed illustrated books . The books she published during her lifetime dealt primarily with cultural and regional-historical topics from the state of Vorarlberg. In addition to several of her own publications, Bertolini brought out works by various authors such as Sabine Dettling, Thomas Klagian, Denise Kopf, Frank Mätzler, Rudolf Sagmeister and Bernhard Tschofen .

The Bertolini publishing has so far been repeatedly honored for his book designs, derived from Rita Bertolini each:
