Robert Galloway (born September 24, 1992 in Columbia , South Carolina ) is an American tennis player who specializes in doubles.

Career

Galloway studied at Wofford College from 2011 to 2015 and also played college tennis during that time .

After graduating, he focused on his tennis career. Here he is particularly successful in doubles, in singles he has only won six matches in tournaments and has not yet reached a place in the top 1000 of the world rankings . In doubles he won two futures in his first year as a professional in 2015 and ended the year in 820th place. Ten more titles were added by the end of 2017, so that he regularly worked his way up the ranking. From November to December 2017 he won 22 matches and thus six titles in a row and was in 330th place in the world rankings.

Thus, in 2018 Galloway could almost exclusively play tournaments of the higher endowed ATP Challenger Tour in doubles . There he won his first Challenger title in Tallahassee with Denis Kudla . In Gatineau and Lexington two more titles were added, so that he moved into the top 150 in the world at the end of August. With Nathaniel Lammons as a partner, they also moved into the main field of the US Open and thus celebrated their debut in a Grand Slam tournament . At the start they defeated Kevin Kim and Reilly Opelka in straight sets and then lost to Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers . With this, Galloway achieved his best value of 125th place in the ranking list.
