Robin N. Bawa (born March 26, 1966 in Duncan , British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played 62 games for the Washington Capitals , Vancouver Canucks , San Jose Sharks and Mighty Ducks in the course of his active career between 1982 and 1999 of Anaheim in the National Hockey League on the right winger position . But Bawa spent most of his career in the Minor Leagues International Hockey League and American Hockey League , where he played the role of an enforcer .
Career
Bawa first played five years from 1982 to 1987 in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Junior Oilers and the resulting Kamloops Blazers . In 1986 he competed in the Memorial Cup with the Blazers . At the end of the 1986/87 season he was elected to the West First All-Star Team of the WHL after his best season with 113 scorer points from 62 games.
Despite his strong last year in the junior league of Canadians of Indian origin was ungedraftet in the 1987-88 season and played in the International Hockey League for the Fort Wayne Komets and the following year in the American Hockey League for the Baltimore Skipjacks , both farm teams of Washington Capitals were. They had signed him as a free agent in May 1987 and used him for the first time in five NHL games during the 1989/90 season . After the right winger had also spent the entire 1990/91 season in the IHL, the Capitals transferred him to the Vancouver Canucks . There Bawa came in the 1991/92 season to two more NHL missions before he was sent to the San Jose Sharks shortly after the beginning of the 1992/93 game year in exchange for Rick Lessard . With the Sharks he stayed only six months, since he went as an unprotected player of the Sharks roster in the 1993 NHL Expansion Draft , with which the newly formed Mighty Ducks of Anaheim could replenish their roster. After 42 games for San Jose in the previous year, Bawa came in the 1993/94 season to his last twelve of a total of 61 games in the NHL.
The following five years from 1994 to 1999 he played exclusively in the IHL, although the Dallas Stars had signed him in the summer of 1994 . After suffering a head injury at the end of the 1998/99 season, he finally ended his career.
