Roko Leni Ukić (born May 12, 1984 in Split , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian basketball player who plays on the position of point guard . From 2008 to early 2010 he was active in the NBA . He is currently under contract with the Antibes Sharks , who play in the LNB Pro B.

Player career

Roko Leni Ukić grew up in the Croatian port city of Split. There he began playing basketball and played for the Croatian basketball club KK Split from an early age . In 2000 he became a team player in the first club selection of KK Split. In 2005 Ukić took part in the 2005 NBA draft and was appointed to the Canadian basketball team of the Toronto Raptors . In order to escape the "reserve role", Roko Leni Ukić did not immediately move to Toronto, but to the Spanish basketball team TAU Cerámica . He spent a season at TAU ​​Cerámica Vitoria and then moved to Catalan rival Barcelona in 2006 . At Barcelona Ukić was used on the player position of a point guard . In 2007 Roko Ukić changed basketball club again and was signed to Lottomatica Roma for one season in Italy , under the direction of his Croatian national and club coach Jasmin Repeša .

On July 16, 2008, Roko Leni Ukić signed a three-year contract with the Toronto Raptors. In the 2008/09 season he was used in 72 games for an average of 12.4 minutes. He achieved an average of 4.2 points. After the relatively good first season with the Toronto Raptors, Ukić moved to Milwaukee for the Bucks . Due to poor preparation and injuries, however, he was rarely used there. In early January, the Milwaukee Bucks announced that they had released Ukić from his current contract. He then moved back to Europe and signed with Fenerbahçe Ülker . In 2012 Ukić moved to Panathinaikos Athens where he played for two years. During his time in Greece he was able to achieve two championships and two cup wins.

With the Croatian national team Ukić took part in the European Championships in 2005 , 2007 and 2009 as well as the Olympic Games in 2008 .
