Rosemarie DeWitt
Rosemarie DeWitt (born October 26, 1971 in New York City , New York ) is an American actress .
Life and accomplishments
DeWitt graduated from Hofstra University with an art degree . She then learned acting at the New York Actors Center . The actress made her debut in an episode of the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit from 2001. In the television drama The Commuters (2005) she played one of the larger roles on the side of David Arquette and Armand Assante .
In the film drama Doris (2006) DeWitt took on the title role. She also played the title role in the film drama Rachel's Wedding (2008), in which the wedding of the character she played is disturbed by her sister ( Anne Hathaway ). The drama was among the contest entries the International Film Festival of Venice , 2008. For her performance, she was at the Satellite Awards 2008 as Best Supporting Actress honor and was given a Toronto Film Critics Association Award .
For her role in the play Small Tragedy performed in the Playwrights Horizons theater , DeWitt received the Obie Award in 2004 as a member of the acting company .
On November 2, 2009, she married her fellow actor Ron Livingston in San Francisco , whom she met while filming the television series Standoff .
