Rudolf Kurz (sculptor)

Rudolf Kurz (born August 12, 1952 in Ellwangen (Jagst) ) is a contemporary German sculptor of Christian art .

Live and act

Kurz studied from 1980 to 1984 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart with Karl-Henning Seemann , Herbert Baumann and Herwig Schubert, graduating as "Academic Sculptor". He has been working as a freelance artist since 1984.

His works have been shown in numerous solo exhibitions. He also created works in public spaces. Here he was particularly involved in the design of churches and chapels, especially choir rooms , altar rooms and crossroads . His works also include cemetery and hospital chapels . In addition to sculptures and stone reliefs, he also created works in bronze such as doors, crosses and reliefs.

Among his works in public space there are also fountains in the city garden of Aalen as well as fountains u. a. in Baden-Baden , Crailsheim , Neuler and Abtsgmünd .

In 2015, Kurz was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

Kurz is married and has two children. He lives in Stimpfach and works in his studio in the Spitalhof in Ellwangen.
