Rudziska (Osada) ( German  Rudzisken , 1930 to 1945 Rudau ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural community of Biskupiec (Bishop's Castle) in the Olsztyński powiat ( Allenstein district ).

Geographical location

Rudziska is located in the center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 27 kilometers southwest of the former district town of Rößel ( Polish Reszel ) and 34 kilometers east of today's district metropolis Olsztyn ( German  Allenstein ). The village of the same name Rudziska (Rudzisken , 1928 to 1945 Rudau) is only a few hundred meters southeast .

history

Today's Osada Rudziska is originally a forestry that is now a small forest settlement (in Polish Osada leśna ). It was a residential area of the Parleza Wielka manor district ( German Groß Parlöse ), which belonged to the East Prussian district of Rößel , while the nearby rural community of Rudzisken was part of the Ortelsburg district . Since 1930 the forester's house Rudzisken has been renamed Forsthaus Rudau . Until 1945 the forestry department was assigned to the state forest of Bischofsburg. In 1905 seven residents were registered.

The transfer of all of southern East Prussia to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war also affected the Rudau forester's house, which is now called Rudziska (osada leśna) as a forest settlement . It is part of the urban and rural community of Biskupiec (Bishop's Castle) in the Olsztyński Powiat ( Allenstein District ).

church

The forester's house in Rudau was parish up until 1945 in the Protestant church Bischofsburg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and also in the Catholic church of the city - located in the diocese of Warmia at that time . Today the Rudziska forest settlement belongs to the respective church in Biskupiec.
