The South-West University Neofit Rilski ( Bulgarian : Югозападен университет "Неофит Рилски" , Jugosapaden uniwersitet "Neofit Rilski" ) is a university founded in 1983 in the Bulgarian city of Blagoevgrad with 9 faculties.
history
The history of this educational institution began in 1975, when a branch of the St. Kliment Ohridski University Sofia was founded in Blagoevgrad with two departments (pre-school education and elementary school pedagogy). In 1983 the department became autonomous and was named Higher Institute for Education . The name South-West University Neofit Rilski was given to the institution in 1995 by the Bulgarian Parliament. The university honors the Bulgarian scholar Neofit Rilski (1793–1881). In addition to the South West University, there is also the American University in Bulgaria in Blagoevgrad .
