Salevere is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Lääneranna in Pärnu County (until 2017: rural municipality of Hanila in Lääne County ) in Estonia .

The place has 28 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

Archaeologists have proven a fortified settlement and cult site from the first millennium BC near Salevere.

The forty hectare Salevere Salumägi nature reserve is south of Matsalu Bay . It is a natural habitat for numerous species of snakes.

The up to fifteen meter cliffs made of limestone are characteristic . It is partially overgrown with natural cliff forest. The steep limestone wall of the elevation facing the sea is believed to be almost 6000 years old. On the wall of the cliff is the source of Silmaallikas ("eye source"), which is said to have been a place of sacrifice in the past. The area, which is well signposted with paths, is particularly popular with hikers and cyclists.
