Matsalu (German Matzal ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Lääneranna in Pärnu County (until 2017: rural municipality Lihula in Lääne County ).

The village has 44 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located 24 kilometers southwest of Haapsalu directly on Matsalu Bay .

Matsalu was first mentioned in 1368 under the name Matzala . The Matsalu court has been occupied since 1560.
