Personalities

The most famous son of the place is the German Baltic writer Carl Siegfried Benjamin von Bremen . He was born in 1905 on the Voose estate.

Well

The estate of Voose was 1,664 as Beigut of Lihula founded. The single-storey wooden mansion was kept low and was not used for representative purposes.

In 1870 the owner at the time, the Baltic German Elisabeth Margarethe Leopoldine von Pohlmann (born from Bremen), had a new, luxurious mansion with up to three floors in the immediate vicinity. At that time it was considered to be one of the most beautiful mansions in the classical style . The greatest ornament was an octagonal side tower. In addition, new outbuildings were built along the large park.

The last private owner before the expropriation in the course of the Estonian land reform in 1919 was Henri von Pistohlkors. The Estonian state then distributed the land to smallholders. They used the existing buildings as building material for the construction of their courtyards. Only a few remains can be found today.

After Estonian independence was regained, the historic threshing floor chimney was restored. An information board shows the history of the estate.
