The Santa Cruz de Flores district is located in the Cañete province in the Lima region in southwestern Peru . The district was established on December 27, 1922. It has an area of ​​94.3 km². The 2017 census counted 3210 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 2131, in 2007 it was 2547. The district administration is located in the 85  m high small town of Santa Cruz de Flores with 1960 inhabitants (as of 2017). Santa Cruz de Flores is located about 60 km north-northwest of the provincial capital San Vicente de Cañete .

Geographical location

The Santa Cruz de Flores district is located in the northwest of the Cañete Province. The district is located in the coastal plain on the right bank of the Río Mala a few kilometers above its confluence with the Pacific Ocean . It has a longitudinal extent in north-south direction of almost 16.5 km and a maximum width of 8.5 km. The district extends up to 1.8 km to the sea. The national road 1S ( Panamericana ) runs on a short section along the western district border.

The district of Santa Cruz de Flores borders in the northwest and in the north on the district Chilca , in the northeast on the district Calango , in the southeast on the district Mala and in the west on the district San Antonio .
