The Sausenheimer Graben in the northern Front Palatinate ( Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a 4.1 km long stream and a right tributary of the Floßbach . In summers with little rainfall , it can fall dry .
course
The Sausenheimer Graben has its origin on the northeast edge of the Grünstadt district of Sausenheim at about 170 m above sea level. NHN . It runs largely in a northeasterly direction. After about 400 m, it crosses under the Autobahn 6 ( Saarbrücken - Mannheim ) from south to north and then passes the southeast of the Grünstadt industrial area, with the Globus market on the left and the Maxi Autohof Kirchheim on the right . The stream then crosses under the federal road 271 ( Bad Dürkheim - Monsheim ) from west to east. In a hollow to the east of the route, when the water level is high, a shallow pond forms , which can reach a diameter of 100 m, but can also shrink to a swampy pond when the water is low .
After 2 km of agricultural land, the Sausenheimer Graben enters the residential area of Obersülzen from the southwest . There it runs from south to north under Landesstrasse 453 (Grünstadt– Frankenthal ) and flows along the west side of Kreisstrasse 29 (Obersülzen– Obrigheim ). After 150 m it joins the Floßbach, which is called Landgraben there, at a height of about 159 m northwest of the residential development .
