State Chess League 1976/77

The 1976/77 season was the second season of the Austrian State Chess League .

SK VÖEST Linz became the champions with a clear lead . The defending champion SK Austria Wien had to be content with third place.

Due to the increase from eight to ten teams, three clubs were promoted with the SK Municipality Graz , the SK Dornbirn and the 1st SSK Mozart . These formed the end of the table at the end of the season, with the 1st SSK Mozart having to relegate to the saving ninth place, 4.5 points behind.

Qualification for the State League 1977/78

The Linz SV was able to qualify for the following season. The venue, date and results of the qualifying tournament are also unknown, as are the other participating clubs.
