State Chess League 1980/81

The 1980/81 season was the sixth season of the Austrian State Chess League .

At the top, ASK Klagenfurt and defending champion SK Merkur Graz ended the season tied; the title went to the Klagenfurters.

In the previous year, SK St. Pölten was promoted , which reached relegation with half a point ahead of the relegated Linzer SV .

Qualification for the State League 1981/82
