Schalenbach is one of 107 localities in the Reichshof municipality in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the North Rhine-Westphalian administrative district of Cologne in Germany . Schalenbach and Heseln form a double village .

Location and description

Schalenbach is located south of the Wiehltalsperre , the closest centers are Gummersbach (29 km northwest), Cologne (67 km west) and Siegen (40 km southeast).

Located in the basin of the Schalenbach. In the Middle Ages, the double village was far away from the trade routes and was only connected to the road network very late. Around 1713 the judge Arnold Schallenbach of the Windeck office lived in the village .
